An introduction of a medical needle into a bioactive point causes a response or a reflex from the neural and endocrine systems or internal organs. Each point corresponds to a pair of organs, like lungs – large intestine, heart – small intestine, liver – gallbladder, pancreas and spleen – stomach. Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a thermal impact on bioactive points located on the entire surface of the human body. A moxa, a so-called wormwood cigar, is used during the procedure. These are tightly rolled leaves of the medicinal plant named wormwood, smoldering for a long time. The smoke of wormwood cigars has a bactericidal and therapeutic effect. The impact on the bioactive points activates the immune system and helps to reduce swelling.
